MYO Camp Counselor Guidelines
Any candidate who applies should be prepared to uphold the following characteristics throughout any responsibilities or tasks assigned or signed up for.

Tasks and expectations: Promotion
Counselors will need to help promote and encourage enrollment of campers leading up to the camp. Counselors will also help organize, promote, and operate occasional activities leading up to the camp, including for example fund-drives. Campers
Counselors will be responsible above all for the well-being on their campers. Counselors are to take the time to get to know their campers. They are to check in on the campers, ensure they are well, safe, and happy. Program and Activities:
Counselors will be expected to participate in the planning, preparation and implementation of elements of the program and may be asked to lead certain activities. Reporting:
On a daily basis, counselors will report to the head counselor on any matters arising from the day, as well as reporting on campers wellbeing, duties’ completion, among other things.Physical Demands:
Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in camp activities which include, but are not limited to, hiking, canoeing, swimming, team building initiatives, building campfires, physical games, and activities.Other characteristics:
Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision. Strong organizational and communication skills. Education classes or experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field.
